Gamuda will complete the RM3.45bn (£600m) Package YC01 in an 88:12 joint venture with Asia World Engineering & Construction Co.

The work, awarded by the Taiwan Kaohsiung City government’s Mass Rapid Transit Bureau, involves construction of a 4.4km railway in NiaoSong district, including 3.5km twin-bored tunnels and 0.9km of elevated tracks, four stations (three underground and one above ground) and two crossovers and cross passages.

It is Gamuda’s third railway project in Taiwan. In 2008 the company built the Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line, and in 2022 it secured the RM2.13bn (£370m) TaoYuan City Underground Railway Project in Taoyuan.

Gamuda’s current infrastructure projects in Taiwan include the Guantang Marine Bridge, Taipei Port Seawall and 161kV Songshu to Guanfeng Underground Transmission Line.
