Malaysian contractor Gerbang Perdana has thrown out preliminary plans to build a tunnel link as part of a replacement link across the Singapore Strait between Johor and Singapore in favour of a US$526M, 1.1km long bridge. The scheme, which will replace the existing 77 year old causeway, has still to be approved by the Malaysian government.
