Singapore’s Land Transport Authority has launched a feasibility study for an orbital metro route connecting the suburbs to the west, north and east of the island’s urban centre. Construction of the ring line is expected to begin in 2005 following completion of the current projects, which include the North East Line and Airport Link and the planned first phase of the S$1.8bn Marina Line.
