Notice to proceed is expected on June 1 2000 for construction of the 15.1km long, 4.9m i.d, Chattahoochee Tunnel in Georgia, US. The contract was to be awarded as T&T International went to press. So far, the low bidder is the Gilbert Southern Corp/SA Healy Co. JV, at $113.6m. The tunnel will be driven using two TBMs.
