Contractor Selmer Skanska has begun work on Norsk Hydro‘s $58.8M Tyin plant in western Norway. The contract includes construction of the underground power station, shafts and 19km of tunnels. The complete project is scheduled to be finished by late 2004 and will replace an outdated existing facility. It will produce 1400GWh of electricity annually drawing on the waters of the Tyin reservoir.
