Taizhou City in China’s eastern Zhejiang province is planning to build an 800m long tunnel as part of an ambitious US$96M scheme to link Leqing city on the mainland with Damaiyu Island. Plans also include a 4.6km long bridge and 18kms of approach roads in addition to the tunnel. The link is due for completion by 2005.
