Japan has announced low interest loans to Turkey totalling $377m for road and subway construction. The loans are to help economic development, officials in Tokyo said. Japanese foreign minister, Masahiko Komura, announced the loan during a meeting with Turkish economics minister, Recep Onal, in Ankara. $270m is to be spent on road improvements and $107m on the construction of a metro in Istanbul.
