UK based companies Arup and Mott MacDonald were recently included in the increasingly popular “100 best companies to work for” in the UK national newspaper The Sunday Times. Arup moved its way up from 41st position (last year) to 29th. “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised by our employees as one of the best companies to work for in the UK, and to have been the top consultancy on the list,” Stella Littlewood, director of human resources, said. Arup was also recognised as the best company for 55 year-old+ workers. “[Arup] has demonstrated the clear benefits that older workers have made in the workplace through their knowledge, skill and experience,” Nigel Crouch, senior industrialist at the DTI, said. Mott MacDonald was named 86th best company to work for. “This is the first time we’ve entered the survey,” Peter Chesworth, board director, said. “And we are delighted to have made it into the top 100.” Thousands of workers in the UK are surveyed, and the list aims to recognise organisations that provide a good working environment.
