Shanghai Tunnel Engineering recently announced its first quarter’s results for 2003, which showed a 5.9% rise in net profits to US$3.6M. Revenue from core tunnelling and construction activities rose to US$121M compared with US$113M a year earlier. The results coincided with the announcement that the company has won a US$85M contract to build a road tunnel in Shanghai.
