International tenders are to be invited by the middle of next year for the US$50M construction of a 1.5km road tunnel through San Eduardo in the Ecuadorean city of Guayaquil.
Municipal officials hope construction can start in the third quarter for completion in 30 months. An engineering firm was due to be appointed as T&TI went to press for a contract to carry out the detailed design of the tunnel.
