Leading Thai contractor, Ch Karnchang, started work at the end of April on a 2.17bn Baht (US$53.3M) contract from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to construct a wastewater tunnel from Makkasan Pond to the Chao Phraya river. Completion of the project is due in four years time.
