Prequalifications were due to be submitted by 12 August for the Portland Eastside Combined Sewer Overflow project in the United States that includes 9.15km of 6.7m i.d. sewer tunnel driven at a depth of between 26m and 50m.
The tunnel will collect and intercept overflows from 14 existing outfalls. Budgeted at between US$500-600M, the scheme also includes nine shafts varying from 3.65m to 18m in diameter, sunk to depths of up to 50m.
The shortlisted applicants will be notified in early September, with the request for proposal process getting underway shortly thereafter.
