Tenders are due for return this month for work on the 043 Aunevik – Bukkesteinen road scheme in Norway that includes nearly 2km of tunnels.

A site visit took place in early October when contractors could better assess the scope, described as “securing work for landslides, road and tunnel work”.

The project entails open rock blasting, as well as tunnel blasting for the 1,990m tunnel lengths. There is also earthmoving of moraine type ground and some filling in the sea and on land with the blasted rock.

Bids will also be opened in front of tenderers on the 22 November at 10.30am. The contract should run from early 2005 to the end of 2006.
