The contracts cover the metro station and the maintenance tunnel, as well as their access shafts, which are needed during construction. The total value of the contracts is roughly EUR 6.7M (USD 8.5M). The west metro HVAC and electrical contracts are divided into station-specific contracts and underground tunnel contracts.

Länsimetro Oy was founded in 2007 as a jointly owned company by the cities of Espoo and Helsinki. Länsimetro will build the new metro line but the line will be sublet to Helsinki City Transport, who will be responsible for running the metro as well as the maintenance of track stations and depots.
