The north American society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) is holding its annual No-Dig Show March 25-29 at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California.

Last year’s show, held in Washington, D.C., attracted nearly 2,300 attendees for its five-day run. Organisers say the show blends education and technology through its technical program, which features approximately 160 technical papers, as well as opportunities for Continuing Education Units.

There is programming dedicated to large diameter tunnelling and rehabilitation. Monday’s large diameter session will include engineers from Black & Veatch discussing the project planning and delivery for the Ohio River Tunnel in Louisville, Kentucky. This deep rock tunnel is 2.5 miles (4km) long, 20ft (6.1m) ID located in a densely developed downtown area. In a separate session on water Cian McDermott (Associated Engineering) and Rob Frizzell (Palmer Environmental Consulting Group) are presenting on the construction project management of the Halton Zone 4 Feedermain Project in Ontario, which involves the installation of approximately 13,000m of trunk watermain. Approximately 4,080m of the watermain is to be installed by trenchless methods, with tunnel diameters ranging from 1,800mm to 3,500mm.

There are sessions concerning topics that may be relevant to tunnellers who don’t necessarily consider their work microtunnelling. Tuesday’s Geotechnical Issues session starts off with a panel discussion of claims.

T&T has highlighted a selection of these sessions with their dates and times.
