Aecom Technology Corp, the Los Angeles consortium of global e-consulting/architecture/engineering firms, and London-based engineering and construction management firm Maunsell, have announced the intention to merge.
The merger will allow the companies to provide a single service to the infrastructure and facilities markets worldwide. Maunsell currently operate throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, Aecom specialises in the US markets.
Of the future merge, Dick Newman, chairman of Aecom says, "This merger positions us to compete effectively and grow across the globe. Together, our companies have all the skills necessary to service the infrastructure and facilities markets and we have the local knowledge our clients need."
The companies jointly employ over 11,000 people globally and generate revenues in excess of $1.5bn.
