Dã-mite rock splitting mortar from Daigh Company is used in a range of applications to fracture or pre-split rock or concrete in “no-blasting” conditions. Dã-mite is said to be perfect for situations when you want to eliminate blasting features such as vibration, noise and fly rock or remove security considerations and licensing/permitting.

By fracturing the rock with a force of more than 20,000psi, Dã-mite is designed to complement demolition hammers and other excavation equipment. It has been used to remove trench rock, boulders, mass rock and dimensional stone in a variety of tunnelling applications.

Dã-mite is, says Daigh Company, versatile and can be used in hole diameters from 1” to 3” in one of four grades packaged in a 44lb box containing four 11lb bags.

Using the product involves mixing a bag of Dã-mite with water and pouring it down predrilled holes. Once the mixture sets and caps itself, it is designed to exert a force strong enough to crack rock or concrete.
