The 34.6km Lötschberg base tunnel, which officially opened on June 15, 2007 and is set to be fully operational in December, is the third-longest rail tunnel in the world. Together with the still ongoing Gotthard base tunnel, it has been a springboard for Marti Technik to develop and export its conveyor belt systems.

For the Castle Peak cable tunnel in Hong Kong, Marti Technik supplied a 4.5km conveyor belt installation powered at 400kW in a 5.2m outer diameter tunnel. The output is 370t/h. A belt reserve with a capacity of 250m advances automatically as the TBM progresses. The belt travels on an incline of -35m on the slopes of the 583m high Mount Castle Peak in the New Territories.

For the Glendoe hydropower project in Scotland, Marti Technik designed, supplied and put in service the entire external 800mm wide conveyor belt installation, including a 1,520m conveyor belt powered at 2 x 200kW and a 35m radial stacker powered at 2 x 11kW, and the 422kW automated electrical supply. The Glendoe conveyor belt will transport 534,000 tonnes, at a flow rate of 400t/h.

In Sweden, Marti Technik has been contracted to deliver screening and crushing equipment, a tunnel conveyor of 230m, a second tunnel conveyor of 150m and an outside conveyor of 80m for the an 8km sewage tunnel between Lerum and Partille in Gothenburg.

For the Istanbul metro, Marti Technik designed, manufactured and delivered to the site two 3.6km conveyor belts and two vertical conveyor belts, each 800mm wide, and the associated 880kW electrical supplies and visual monitoring system. The system is able to convey 500t/h.
