Anyone taking the time to glance down the ‘masthead’ on page 3 will probably have noticed some changes. This is because T&T International has a new owner and, by the time you read this Comment, the magazine will have moved to a new location outside London with the new set of contact details that such a move inevitably entails.

This is something of a major event for the magazine, because the new owner, publishing company Polygon Media Ltd, will be only the third publisher of T&T International since its launch in 1969. Three owners in almost 31 years is not bad going in today’s hectic business world, and this enviable stability has contributed to the authority and standing enjoyed by the journal among tunnelling professionals world wide who have reciprocated with a loyalty of readership unknown on almost any other professional publication.

So, T&T International enters the new millennium with a new owner and a new home, and at a tremendously exciting time for tunnelling around the world.

Increasing environmental concerns and huge advances in technology and productivity are leading to the underground option becoming increasingly recognised as a viable, cost effective solution in ground conditions which would previously have been impossible.

Against this background we look forward to continuing to provide the best in-depth coverage of more projects from more countries, together with news and business, the latest in technical innovation and comment from leading industry figures.

To continue to do its job and maintain standards, T&T International relies on its close relationship with you, our readers. This is why I sincerely hope that you take note of the new contact details and continue to offer us articles, suggest topics that will interest you, comment on articles published, and provide us with letters and business intelligence. I look forward very much to hearing from you.
