Tam, working closely with CTRL contractors has fine tuned application techniques and enhanced its standard TDI based hydrophilic flexible polyurethane resin, TamPUR 150, for optimum performance in tunnels.

The method requires drilling access holes across the segment joints (or cracks) and inserting injection packers. For gasketed segments the access holes are drilled either behind or between the gaskets; un-gasketed segments require a surface seal, usually formed with TamPlug; a rapid setting waterproof, cementitious plug.

TamPUR 150 is injected into the joints (or cracks) where it reacts in contact with water to form dense flexible foam which, when formed under compression, creates a fully watertight seal within the joint interface. The product can be enhanced with the addition of an accelerator, to produce exceptionally dense foam and improved structural retention.

The advantage of using a flexible hydrophilic polyurethane resin is the bond strength with the substrate. In-situ the TamPUR 150 is capable of yielding to compression, sheer and tensile forces without loss of performance; greatly enhancing reliability and durability.

Being a single shot product, TamPUR 150 can be pressure injected using small portable 110v single piston pumps or compact air driven pumps enabling rapid deployment of small work teams with minimal logistical support.
