The Geodata tunnel scanner is a high-precision measuring and analysis system for the efficient and continuous documentation of tunnels, galleries, caverns and shafts in all phases of construction and during the entire utilisation period. The system provides both building owners and performing companies with similar benefits and utilisation potentials right up to significant cost savings: increase in quality with regard to the quality of the excavation profile, the shotcrete thickness etc.; control and optimisation of the construction process; recording for geological/geotechnical purpose and spatial deformation analysis.
A simple and continuous recording independent of lighting and surface structure can be done within three minutes per approx. 10m at a grid size 20mmx20mm. During the course of the survey, the tunnel surface is scanned with laser pulses in a dense grid. Immediately after the recording, the results are available as 3D cartesian coordinates as well as intensity values for the graphical display. The accuracy of the system is within ± 10mm.

Häny offers one of the largest ranges of grouting equipment. There are 10 different pump models available with an output of 1.2-13m3/hr and pressures up to 200 bar. Five different High-shear colloidal mixers guarantee highest quality mixes within a very short time period. Each mixer can be complemented with a suitable sized agitator.
The grout pumps of the ZMP 700 series are most suitable for backfilling of tunnel liners as well as for pressure grouting. This combined use saves cost and space on the backup systems of TBM’s. During normal operation, the pumps are used for backfilling. In difficult areas where pre-grouting is required, the same pumps are used for pressure grouting. In a HCM high-shear (colloidal) mixer placed near the pumps, any type of cement can efficiently be mixed. In the same mixer, bentonite slurry can be mixed for cleaning out the grout pipes in the tail shield.
The new HFR Recorder incorporates a graphic display to visualise the curves of pressure and flow. Permeability tests with calculation of the permeability and the Lugeon value as well as injections according to the GIN method can also be performed. A RS 232 interface allows real time monitoring on a PC locally or remote through modems. The HFR system can monitor 1 to 8 grout lines simultaneously.

A gap in overlap welding for vertical and horizontal applications is now closed with the TriacDrive semi-automatic welding machine from Leister. The TriacDrive is especially well suited for overhead welding and for applications in restricted spaces, e.g. for roofing membranes in a light dome, for welding joining tape in tunnel construction or for joining geomembrane liners prior to extrusion welding. For the user, an important feature of this semi-automatic overlap welding machine is its continuously regulated temperature and speed, so the user only has to concentrate on the application force. This results in a higher quality of welding as well as improved welding seam quality. Its simple handling makes the TriacDrive extremely attractive, along with its extremely low weight of just 2.3kg incl. cable.

Promat International has launched the new Promatect-T board, with multiple advantages for the protection of concrete structures, construction of escape routes, fire doors, cable systems and ventilation systems. Designed to answer the most severe fire scenarios, Promatect-T is not just a barrier to fire, but for a certain period of time plays the role of fire brigade, by cooling down the concrete interface in pre-designed steps. Afterwards becoming an efficient thermal insulator, at fire temperatures up to 1400°C. The engineered product matrix can easily secure a same temperature value at the interface with the concrete, with only half the thickness of other products.
Although designed as panels, the engineered matrix of Promatect-T allows the board to be curved on-site, and will cover surfaces with a diameter of curvature down to 8m. Easy to install by clean techniques, the application of Promatect-T can also be realised on existing tunnels.
Intensive and extensive testing for specialist approval was carried out after a detailed in-house testing programme. Not only the fire protection performances were investigated, but also the behaviour in typical mechanical (like pressure/de-pressure as induced by vehicles traffic) and chemical aggressions (like highly polluted atmosphere by exhaust gases).

Shot-Tech Waterline provides a one-step solution for relief of hydrostatic pressures in mines and tunnels. Shot-Tech Waterline is a unique membrane lining system used for water control in combination with shotcrete. It is a combination of thick, fibre-wool drainage media permanently welded to a waterproof membrane. When secured with bolts, mesh, or a Hilti gun with the fibre facing in, and the membrane out, it is self-sealing. Once the plastic film is peeled off it exposes a strong adhesive surface ideal to receive shotcrete. Waterline can be formed around unusual shapes, and remains pliable even at low ambient temperatures.
Over 130 Shot-Tech Robotic Arms are in use all over the world. Developed as an alternative to the expensive ‘one size fits all’ shotcrete rig. Shotcrete technologies provides a cost saving and effective robotic spraying arm that fits most types of carriers from 4WD trucks to Railcars to Bobcats. Once a shotcrete project is complete, the unit may be demobilised and reconfigured for the next application.

The WG Tunnel Arch System (WGTA) is a complete fire retardant lining system for water leakage, humidity protection, and frost insulation of road tunnels. The patented system consists of steel pipe arches spaced at 1.5m-2m combined with PVC-coated polyester fabric. All joints of the fabric are hot air welded to produce a guaranteed waterproof surface. Access is possible through the sidewall for safety inspections of the rock surface. Each section of WGTA is easy to replace.
The system is already well known in Scandinavia as the most cost efficient system for humidity and water leakage insulation in low-traffic road tunnels.
The WG Tunnel Sealing System (WGTS) is a patented system, which provides permanent sealing of humid rock walls and ceilings in an extremely cost effective and efficient manner.
The WGTS system consists of a PVC-coated polyester fabric, suspended inside the rock cavern with a system of bolts and wire. Leakage water is led to a drainage system. The PVC coated polyester fabric is specially designed to resist the chemical environment in a tunnel, and the expected lifetime of the system under humid conditions is estimated to be a minimum of 50 years.
Combined with dehumidifiers, the system provides an ideal environment for corrosion-free storage of sensitive equipment. The material has been approved by fire authorities for use in tunnels.
