A 3.5km rail tunnel under Auckland’s central business district from Britomart to Mount Eden has been proposed by New Zealand’s Auckland Regional Transport Authority as part of a US$1.1bn upgrade of Auckland’s rail network. The tunnel could be built by 2025.
