UK contractor AMEC will proceed with tunnelling over the coming months on Welsh Water’s 1.6km long, 1.2m diameter Taffs Well sewer tunnel. Using a Euro Iseki 1200mm Supermole, AMEC will bore through mixed ground of up to 200MPa rock strength. Completion is scheduled for June 2002.
