Three Roman ships from the Imperial age are being removed from the construction site of the Piazza Municipio subway station in Naples, Italy.

The 21t hulls from around the first century A.D. are lifted from the mud and slime in a special fibreglass conservation shell and will be transported to a special warehouse in Naples’ northern suburbs. Two of the ships are medium to long distance trade vessels whereas the third is a service ship that would have been used inside the port.
