Sandvik Mining and Construction and BASF’s unit Meyco have signed an agreement which will see the two companies cooperate on a global scale in the fields of tunnelling and mining. In a first step, the two companies have agreed to initiate joint operations for spare parts management and the service and maintenance of machines for sprayed concrete.
The new cooperation has been launched in different parts of the world, and this is a process that will continue. To date, the cooperation has been established Northern Europe, Southern Europe, the US, Canada and Mexico.
“The cooperation is an excellent means of improving customer service and the companies can jointly offer a broader range of machines with enhanced spare parts and maintenance availability. BASF’s main interest lies in selling chemicals for concrete production, whereas Sandvik specializes in supplying machines and related services to the mining and construction industries,” explains Jarmo Manninen, Aftermarket Offering and Project Manager at the Construction Segment of Sandvik Mining and Construction.
