Contractors which were chosen as preferred bidders for the delayed $4bn Section 2 of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) have been told that they will all have to rebid for the contracts. Preparations are under way for a mid-2001 start on the project. Rail Link Engineering (RLE), construction managers for the scheme, decided to rebid the packages as the scope and geography of the original packages has now changed.
