Traffic officials from Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates are evaluating proposals, including the establishment of an underground railway, to ease traffic jams on the highway linking the two emirates, official sources in Dubai said recently. Though one official said the proposal is only in the ‘scrutiny’ phase, many believe it will get serious consideration.
