Femern A/S has prepared the documents together with the LBV¹s branch office in Lübeck who is responsible for the tunnel¹s road section that runs on Germany territory.

Claus F Baunkjær, CEO of Femern A/S, said: ³This is a major achievement and a very important day for our project. I am glad that we can now submit the approval documents for the Fehmarnbelt tunnel to the plan approval authority. After the publication of the Danish Environmental Impact Assessment in June, and the official start of the international tender phase in September, this is the third major milestone our company has reached this year."

The Fehmarnbelt tunnel is scheduled to open at the end of 2021.
