The Singapore Land Transit Authority (LTA) has awarded the last of three contracts on the 33km long Circle Line’s 17km long Stage 4 and 5 to SembCorp E&C. The US$198M contract 856 includes construction of 3.4km of twin tube running tunnel, 640m of cut and cover tunnel, the completion of four stations and structural provisions for a fifth. Construction is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2004 with completion targeted for 2010. The first two contracts on Stages 4 and 5 were awarded in June and August at a cost of US$467M.
