G eoconsult’s $800 000 fine for it’s part in the Heathrow Express tunnel collapse will not be written off.
Uxbridge Magistrates Court was hoping to have the fine dropped, having tired of chasing the money. But the Health and Safety Executive has objected, forcing an indefinate adjournment of the case.
European regulations prevent the pursuit of health and safety fines across national borders. To date Geoconsult has not paid any of the fine.
Geoconsult has lodged an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights, claiming an unfair trial.
