MBT Underground Construction, part of Degussa Construction Chemicals, has signed an international marketing agreement for providing tunnel segment gaskets with Italian manufacturer, FIP Industriale. The deal resulted in winning the contract to supply segment gaskets to the Guadarrama tunnel north section on Spain’s high-speed railway. The year-long contract calls for FIP and MBT to supply gaskets to protect over 17,800 rings in the 8.5m-diameter tunnel. MBT also provide a complete service for TBM tunnelling projects, including soil conditioning, tail sealing and admixtures for grouts.
