
Sidhant Kaul, from Hochtief Murphy JV, has won this year’s Harding Prize.
Kaul won the BTS prize with his paper entitled “TBM transition through Kidbrooke Shaft, engineering challenges and solutions in the London Power Tunnels Phase 2 Project”.
The runner-up was Chris Prince from Bouygues Group with this paper “Innovation sustainability – water treatment in tunnelling drawn from experiences of recycling water whilst constructing the Chiltern Tunnels”.
The Harding Prize competition is named in honour of Sir Harold Harding, the founding chairman of the BTS. The competition is open to young engineers aged 33 or under. It is judged on an original paper that must address aspects of tunnelling considered of interest to the tunnelling industry.
