Iran’s Tehran Sewerage Company (TSC) is kicking off the construction of an US$44M, 18km sewage tunnel as part of a massive sewerage network in the capital, Tehran. Engineering and project management companies were invited to bid in February for a contract to supervise construction of the tunnel. Bids for main tunnelling construction will be called by the end of June. TSC has split the tunnel project into two sections with completion by 2006. The scheme has been designed by a team of consultants led by Austria’s ILF with KEO International Consultants from Kuwait and local firm, Parsconsult.
