The deadline for this year’s ITA Tunnelling Awards has been extended to May 30.

The international competition rewards the most ground-breaking innovation and outstanding projects in tunnelling and underground space use. This year’s event – the 11th edition of the awards – will take place on October 1 in Belgrade, Serbia, as part of the Southeastern Europe Tunnelling Conference (SETC-2025), organised by the Serbian Association for Tunnels and Underground Structures.

Each submission will undergo a rigorous evaluation by a panel of judges, composed of experts from across the tunnelling community, including project owners, engineers, contractors and academics from around the world.

The awards feature eight categories:

Major Project of the Year – over €500m

Project of the Year – between €100-500m

Project of the Year up to €100m

Project of the Year – Renovation projects

Technical Innovation of the Year

Product/Equipment innovation of the year

Elevated Thinking Underground: Shaping the Future

Young Tunneller of the Year
