US consultant Jacobs Engineering has strengthened its position in the overseas infrastructure market, particularly in Europe, with the buying of UK consultants Gibb. Geotechnical and environmental services consultant Law, Gibb’s US parent company approached Jacobs with the deal. The sale has been seen as a retrenching move by Law back into the domestic market. The deal was for an undisclosed sum and is the second time Gibb has been sold in 12 years.
