Pre-qualification bids have been called for a build-operate-maintain project for the first line of the Jerusalem light rail network. The concession will be for 30 years.The entire 5-line project comprises 47km of track, including 6.5km in tunnel and 72 stations. Total cost is estimated at $1.3bn and completion is scheduled for 2002. The first line will run from French Hill via Yaffo Street to Hazel Boulevard, and will cost $250m.
