Hong Kong’s KCRC has invited contractors to pre-qualify for three planned extensions to its east rail network, worth US$3bn. The major tunnelling work is on 1km southern extension from the existing Hung Hom Station to a new terminus at Tsim Sha Tsui East.Known as Contract HCC-301, the job entails construction of cut+cover tunnels and a ventilation building between the two stations. KCRC said it expects to invite tenders in August 2000.
