A tunnel 300m long, running underneath the border between Mexico and the US, has been found in southern California. The tunnel, thought to be used for drug smuggling, is equipped with rail tracks, electric lighting and ventilation pipes. It has been suggested that the perpetrators had specialist tunnelling knowledge.
