The JV is the appointed Project Delivery Partner (PDP) and underground works contractor for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Project for the Sungai Buloh to Kajang Line (KVMRT SBK Line).

In a statement issued in Kuala Lumpur on 24 March, it said the proposed pedestrian linkway is an integral part of the physical integration between the KL Sentral MRT Station and other rail stations located at KL Sentral.

"We would like to clarify that construction of the pedestrian linkway will be under the purview of the scope of PDP’s contractual obligations, held by MMC Gamuda KVMRT (PDP) Sdn Bhd for the KVMRT SBK Line.

"But it will not be part of the underground works contractual scope held by MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd, the underground works contractor for the project," it added.

MMC-Gamuda also said it had not submitted any tender proposals for construction of the pedestrian linkway project, was not one of the bidding parties for it and consequently, will not be the works package contractor either.

The comments came in response to a recent report in the MRT watchdog blog, "MRT Watch", that said a costly and high risk linkway tunnel project would be built by MRT Corp and its PDP for the MRT system, Gamuda Bhd.
