A British recruitment search for tunnellers in Malaysia and Singapore will be launched by Hunter Personnel in early February with Morgan Est as the main sponsor.
The recruitment agency is to hold open days in Kuala Lumpur on 5 Feb and Singapore on 10 Feb to talk to experienced tunnellers and graduate engineers. Hunter personnel said the move was a result of the skills shortage in the UK, and clients are seeking shift engineers through to section and senior engineers.
In addition to the open days, the agency plans to visit projects in both cities, such as the SMART scheme now finishing in Kuala Lumpur. Both local engineers and ex-pats are of interest to the recruitment drive.
Following first round interviews and allowing for a possible second round, the agency anticipates offers and placement being likely towards the end of February.
