The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a national initiative set up by the construction industry, to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements and protect the general public, employees and the environment. The scheme involves review of project site environment, local impact, appearance, community relations, safety and operative occupational health and safety.

Murphy is currently delivering a GBP 10M (USD 16M) for UK Power Networks to construct a 2.59m internal diameter, 1.3km tunnel from Brentfield Park to Taylors Lane in Willesden along with two vertical 28m deep, 7.5m internal diameter shafts at each site location. Secant piling method was selected to underpin one tunnel shaft; in addition 143m of shallow tunnel for junction and reception chambers have also been constructed.

"We are extremely pleased to have achieved such a fantastic score from The Considerate Constructors Scheme, which aims to improve the overall image of construction," said Keith Pollard, Murphy project manager said. "Our site staff and operatives have worked tirelessly over the past few months to achieve this excellent end result."
