Hitachi Zosen Corp will shortly deliver the first of four tunnel boring machines to Japanese contractor Taisei that were ordered in April 2004 under a US$25.8M contract. The machines will be used to excavate rail tunnels totalling 9.5km under the Bosporus Strait in Istanbul, Turkey.
