In early May the Stockholm City Court announced its ruling in a patent dispute between Sandvik and Atlas Copco. Sandvik brought a suit against Atlas Copco relating to the steering and control of drill rigs. The court concluded that whilst Sandvik’s patent was valid, Atlas Copco had not infringed the patent. Sandvik are now reviewing the ruling and the company’s counsel said in a statement: “Naturally we had hoped for a positive ruling for Sandvik, but we are also aware that this is a complicated case.”
