Bids are being invited for the civil works on the 900MW Purulia pumped storage project by the West Bengal State Electricity Board in India. The $120m package includes the construction of an underground powerhouse and six tunnels , each 1km long. Current bidders are Taisei Corporation in partnership with Itochu of Japan, Daikerhoff of Germany and Skanska of Sweden.
