Pump manufacturer ITT Industries recently expanded its global offering with the acquisition of Dutch-based Svedala Robot, also a manufacturer of submersible pumps.

“This acquisition fits perfectly within our existing portfolio, and enhances our ability to provide high-value submersible pumps for small and mid-sized wastewater operations,” Robert Ayers, president of ITT’s fluid technology business, said.

The move will further broaden ITT’s European market, while looking further a field.

“We will be able to attract new customers in our established markets and help boost our sales in new markets such as China,” ITT Flygt’s president, Anders Hallberg said.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Metso Minerals, Svedala Robot is expected to contribute revenues of approximately US$10M per year to ITT Industries’ current sales of US$4.7bn.
