After just five and a half years of use, a two-year programme has been started by Eurotunnel to re-rail the Channel Tunnel. The work will be carried out in January 2000 and January 2001. Contractors are : Spie Drouard for track laying and signalling assistance; Voest-Alpine (Austria) undertaking rail production; and Technirail for rail welding and transportation to site.
