Sandvik rolled out major corporate changes and relocations this month. A new executive management team has been appointed effective 1 January 2012. New members on the team will include Tomas Nordahl, executive vice president with responsibility for IT, sourcing and strategy; Gary Hughes, president of Sandvik Mining; Andreas Evertz, president of Sandvik Machining Solutions and Thomas Schulz, president of Sandvik Construction.
Also announced were various office relocations. Sandvik Group will be relocated to Stockholm, Sweden; Sandvik Mining to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Sandvik Construction to Stockholm with a satellite office in Shanghai, China and Sandvik Venture will be located in Stockholm.
As of 1 October 2011 Ajay Sambrani will be appointed new country manager of India while Svante Lindholm, country manager in China, will retire in the same month. A process to find his successor has begun according to a Sandvik spokesman.
