Rideau Transit Group’s (RTG) geotechnical engineers are on site assessing ground conditions in the area. Monitoring equipment has confirmed that the impact is localized and the geotechnical team has not identified any safety concerns.
RTG’s intervention methods saw work crews immediately begin stabilizing the tunnel face and backfilling the hole.
Tunneling will not resume until it is safe to do so.
