Gammon Skanska has teamed up with Beijing Zhuzong Group Corporation to bid for work on two new metro lines in Beijing, China.
The JV will specifically target lines 4 and 10 that are due to come out to tender next year. Gammon Skanska will invest US$6M in the venture, while Beijing Zhuzong Group will spend US$7.3M. Gammon Skanska said cash would be used to buy TBMs and associated tunnelling equipment.
China plans to spend US$1.2bn a year on metro lines over the next five years.
