Skanska‘s chief executive Claes Bjork will not be renewing his contract when it ends next year.

No reason was given for Bjork’s decision to step down, but the company failed to meet profit expectations this year, and the 57-year old chief executive has an option to draw his pension at 58.

The company’s chairman, Sverker Martin-Lof, said that they hoped to replace Bjork from within the Skanska Group.
